All surfaces should be clean and free of loose elements
Always apply hot melt adhesive to the more difficult-to-bond surface
In general, hard, smooth surfaces are more difficult to bond than rough, porous surfaces
To achieve optimum bond strength, mate surfaces as quickly as possible after the adhesive has been applied BONDING TIME:
Most materials will bond in 30 seconds or less
A proper bond will achieve about 50% of its bond strength after 1 minute, 75% after 1 hour, 100% after 1 day
